The Bluebell Wood, close to Wicklesham Lodge, is home to our free-range hens. Scratching through the undergrowth, finding grubs to complement their diet, based on home-grown wheat, they lay delicious eggs with rich, deep yellow yolks.

Next to the wood lies the vegetable garden, where the light, free-draining soil has been tended and enriched since Victorian times to produce an abundance of vegetables throughout the year. From the apples that hang in the orchard to the potatoes that thrive in the sandy soil, we aim to follow traditional gardening principles.
